HIFU – A treatment that is becoming more and more popular as it is said to rival the results of a surgical facelift. If you offer this already in your clinic you’ll know the amazing results that can be had with HIFU treatments. If you don’t offer it already, this is definitely one to look into adding to your treatment offering this year.

What is HIFU

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, it’s a non-invasive treatment which uses a handheld device to deliver high-frequency ultrasound waves to the targeted area. Like Cryostar® treatment, the HIFU can get deep into the skin without damaging the surface layers.

How does HIFU Work

It targets deep layers under the skin and creates controlled cell damage. The ultrasound energy heats the tissue to around 60°C and 70°C. This controlled heating stimulates collagen production and initiates a natural healing response in the body.

Expected HIFU Results

Clients can expect to the see great results from a HIFU treatments such as:

  • Improved skin elasticity and firmness. Due to the stimulation of collagen HIFU can help to tighten sagging skin in areas such as the face, neck, and abdomen.
  • Reduction in wrinkles. Targeting specific areas around the face, neck and décolletage, HIFU naturally helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Lifting & Contouring of the targeted area. Popular target spots are the jawline, checks and eyebrows.
  • Body Sculpting. HIFU can be used on the body as well as the face. Targeting areas of stubborn pockets of fat, these can be reduced without the need for surgery.

How long do HIFU Results last

The results from a HIFU treatment can last up to 2 or 3 years, with a yearly top-up for optimal results.

A treatment can be carried out in less than an hour during a lunch break or after work before heading out for the night. A HIFU treatment is also much less expensive than surgery.

HIFU treatments are generally considered safe, with minimal downtime and few side effects. However, it is essential to consult with a qualified professional to determine the suitability of HIFU for your specific concerns and to discuss any potential risks or limitations associated with the procedure.
